Khup Khen Thang | Chief Accountant

Khup Khen Thang is an experienced financial and church leader with extensive expertise in business administration, accounting, and ministry. He currently serves as chief accountant of the Myanmar Union Mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church (MYUM), where he directs reports to the Southern Asia-Pacific Division (SSD) in Silang, Cavite, Philippines. His responsibilities encompass oversight of financial flows to five mission offices—Ayeyarwaddy Mission, Central Myanmar Mission, Southeast Myanmar Mission, Upper Myanmar Mission, and Yangon Adventist Mission—as well as affiliated institutions such as Kinsaung Publishing House, ADRA Myanmar, Yangon Adventist Seminary International School (YASIS), and Myanmar Union Adventist Seminary (MUAS).
 
In addition to his primary role, Mr. Khup serves as coordinator of global life insurance, property insurance, and general premium liabilities, ensuring organizational accountability and risk management. He also functions as secretary of the Retirement Committee. His career trajectory reflects steady advancement, having previously served as an accountant (2017–2021) and cashier (2013–2016) at MYUM, consistently demonstrating competence in financial stewardship and organizational support.
 
Mr. Khup is currently pursuing the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Business Management at the Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies (AIIAS), Philippines. His academic credentials include a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Management (2021–2025), a Master of Ministry (2016–2019), and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accountancy with a minor in theology from MUAS. His scholarly interests focus on the integration of financial discipline, leadership theory, and faith-based governance, with particular emphasis on strategic treasury models for sustainable mission growth.
 
Since 2013, Mr. Khup has actively engaged in church ministry and community service, in addition to his professional and academic commitments. At the Yangon Central Seventh-day Adventist Church, he has served in multiple leadership capacities, including church elder, internal auditor, church clerk, and church treasurer. He has also contributed as a deacon, graphic designer, editor, and frequent speaker and panelist. In 2018, he authored the Anlangh Adventist Church Jubilee Book, underscoring his dedication to preserving ecclesiastical heritage and fostering community identity.
 
Born in Anlangh Village, Tedim District, Chin State, Myanmar, Mr. Khup is the son of Pu Go Lam Thang Naulak and Pi Ning Khup Cing. He is a member of the Zomi tribe and a descendant of the Naulak Innpi lineage; he is the fifth son among nine brothers and, together with three sisters, belongs to a large family of twelve siblings. This strong familial and cultural heritage has profoundly shaped his values of community, service, and leadership.
 
He is married to Cing Deih Lian, and together they are blessed with three children: Joshua Thanghonsang Naulak, Caleb Mangsuantung Naulak, and Grace Cingitkim Naulak.
